i think its good to have both too.
Big advertisers with purchasing power buy set amount of job credits per month.
small recruiter or corporate looking to control costs (and their time), then pay per application is an attractive alternative.
regarding the sales pitch - advertisers get to post their jobs for FREE!! and only pay for qualified applications.
no risk/cost if you dont get the applications - many companies/recruiters like this idea.
Hi Jeff,
Interesting post!
JobServe has had a P4P (pay 4 performance / pay per application) product for some time.
You are right in saying that if the ad gets too much response you will be paying for it.. With our product you can set filter quest…
i really appreciate your advice david.....i have one other ? you could help me with as far as the contracts ,where do i get those contracts and would the employer send payment info on the form along with the jobs they would want me to post? And do you contact hr directors directly to sell postings as one of your ways to sell postings
my site is www.vlitzo.com..... do you have any suggestions of how i should go about getting employers to sign up? many are saying to fill out there suppliers forms on their website and someone may get back with me what's you take on this?
thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Point taken about the job search - I agree the home page needs improving from this perspective and hopefully we can make these and some other changes in 2009.
The prices quoted there are non-contract rates. Our prices fall away fairly quickly for 3,6, & 12 mth contracts, though again, you have a point, as it may well put companies off who see this pricing.
I would be most grateful for some tips on pricing - if you would rather email these, please contact me on graham@wirelessmobile-jobsboard.com.
Thanks again and I hope all is well in Sydney. I changed planes there are few years ago, when I went down to Christchurch for 10 days of interviewing, but typically had no time to get out and see the city - it looks great from the air. Maybe next time!
I launched www.wirelessmobile-jobsboard.com three years ago. We've made stready progress, though nothing like the success of Jobserve, though not much comes close.
Do you have any tips you can share, especially in getting recruitment agencies to part with their cash!
Graham

thanks so much for the kind words :) we have been beta for a few weeks ironing out some back end code, but the feedback since it went live has been great. I see you are in Sydney? I lived there for a few months back in College. Still one of my favorite places. What is JobServe all about? :)
David - we met briefly while I was working at Adcorp in Sydney. We pitched an idea to you and John. I now help run the Financial Times' job-board (Exec-Appointments) back here in the UK. How are you doing?
